Who will own me next year?

Today I got to thinking about who will own us in a little more than a year from now. Will we be beholden to the elite, the corporate gluttony, or the new whorled odor crowd? The only thing that’ll change if the elite win is more people will die. If corporate gluttony wins the only thing that will happen is more people will die. And finally, if the new whorled odor wins, two things will happen: More people will die and our betters *sniff* will still stink.

The only other thing left for me to do is quietly lie down on the floor and let my betters brand “mat” over my bare chest.

Or I can vote Ron Paul.

Flag-folding ceremony for veterans banned nation-wide -oo-

The following meanings have been ascribed to the 13 folds of American flags at veterans burial services.

  1. Symbol of life.
  2. Symbol of our belief in the eternal life.
  3. In honor and remembrance of the veteran departing our ranks who gave a portion of life for the defense of our country to attain a peace throughout the world.
  4. Represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in time of peace as well as in times of war for His divine guidance.
  5. A tribute to our country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, “Our country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong.”
  6. Represents where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
  7. A tribute to our armed forces.
  8. A tribute to the one who entered in to the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for whom it flies on Mother’s Day.
  9. A tribute to womanhood.
  10. A tribute to father.
  11. In the eyes of a Hebrew citizen, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies, in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
  12. In the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost.
  13. When the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding us of our national motto, “In God We Trust.”

But all it took was one person complaining to a top banana banana_rasta.gif

to put a stop to this long-honored, meaningful ritual ceremony for our veterans. Oh, but no! top buffoon banana says – it wasn’t one person complaining that put the cabash on the ceremony. Oh, no! Mercy! It’s because they’re in the process of standardizing national veteran funerals. Oh, gawd, I can’t tell you how much better I feel knowing this. [Visions of communist uniformity pop into my head. My bad.]

Mercy, indeed!

MacGyver for President 2008..right on!

I just came across MacGyver’s “campaign” for President 2008 website today.  \o/   Gee whiz! Who could better turn this country into a first-class nation (again) than MacGyver? He has many of the qualifications that we look for in our presidential candidates: good looks, acting prowess, solver-of-any-problem on earth (and elsewhere in the universe, oh, my! What a MAN!) And to complete the picture, he’ll have Jack Bauer as his running mate. Folks, it doesn’t get any better than that, by Jove.

Rissi Palmer, country singer

What better way to kick off thatdowdygirl’s eclectic taste in music than to tell you of Rissi Palmer, a new talent to hit the country music scene. She’s what everyone expects a country singer to be – a voice you can dream on, woman bearing guitar skills, all wrapped up as one model-tall, beautiful young woman with a winsome face that you never get tired of looking at. Check out Palmer on her savvy website that features everything you could possibly need to know about this up-and-coming country singer who’s here to stay. From where I sit, the only way is up.

I’m that dowdy girl next door

Yes, I’m thatdowdygirl who gets sand kicked in her face at the beach. Yes, I have long, brown straight hair, moustache, beady eyes. And bangs. I wear glasses and I’m brainy. No, I didn’t go to my Senior prom. Who’ll take the girl with the skinny legs? This dowdy girl is mental, like in cerebral, not nucking futz or interested in fashion, hats, nail polish, or the newest kitchen gadget. I live on the sidelines.  I didn’t learn early on the fine art of flirting, wearing 4-inch high heels, or drawing on red blubbery lips. No, thisdowdygirl takes after Sybil Shepard -wears flats – not the gorgeous looks. I pick at my food, spend more time on the bathroom throne fighting off the effects of nerves. I ruminate a lot, too. What the hell is wrong with me?!?! I’m not that freakin’ ugly. Just plain vanilla. You know, when it comes to ice cream, plain vanilla is more appealing than, let’s say, some dum old banana split with strawberry, chocolate, peppermint, and salmon ice scream, artificial cherries (avec branch on one end), glob of whipped cream out of the can, smothered in, well, nuts. Thank you very much.  Plus, vanilla goes with everything [grrr].

Babble on

If.
you would please,
get the message:
take stream-of-consciousness ramblings
you know,
the off-the-cuff
babblings,
[as in nonsense]
no. sense.
falsies & factoids,
phallic meanderings
and,
off-the-wall obelisk imagery,
4 letter words,
[leave love alone]
and same such stuff,
fold them in 3’s,
roll up your sleeves,
and place the stuff up
your
.
.
.

point,
[the one your hat sits on]
.
.

viz,
self-erected pious pyramid,
om in self awe, to the tune
of Hypocrisy in Osophies,
and confine them to the couch,
as in Freud-sense,
[sans the incense]
then,
no apology,
no offense.
